Some updates for ytd olympic

BEIJING, August 22) -- The Brazil Women's football squad will bring back another silver medal, after another extra-time US goal, just like four years ago in Athens when the US ended Brazil's Olympic dream.
Brazil has to wait another four years before they can try to add Olympic gold to their trophy cabinet. If Brazilian men were to defeat Belgium tomorrow, Brazil would have a total of four silver and two bronze medals from the Olympics. Germany beat Japan 2-0 in the bronze final.
However, Brazilian women were not alone to weep for the loss. Two-time World Cup winner Germany's Women's team won a consecutive bronze medal. Once more, they failed to break the unwritten law that reigning world cup winner gets no chance on Olympic gold.
1999 World Cup champion the US lost to Norway in the final of 2000 Sydney, which was the only gold they missed since 1996 Atlanta when Women's Football came into the Olympics.
Carli Lloyd's gold-deciding goal was the second time the midfielder saved the US team in Beijing. Her 27-minute goal from the second group game against Japan pulled US back from death line after their first game loss to Norway 2-0.
To Brazil's consolation, their striker Cristiane was the best in Beijing 2008's Women's Football Tournament.

near perfect dive.......10 points from 4 judges

Chen may be World No. 1 with an Olympic Team gold medal safely tucked inside her kitbag, but when Emilie Heymans of Canada put in a remarkable fourth round dive worth 95.20, it was looking like as if Day Thirteen would prove unlucky for Chen and for China –this was the very same gold medal that evaded the country's clutches at Athens in 2004.
That is when Chen responded like a great. A dive of 89.10 left her behind, going into the final round behind Heymans, who couldn't quite repeat the magic of her previous effort. But it still looked good enough to win, that is, until Chen produced a near perfect dive with the last leap of the competition.
Despite the almost intolerable pressure mounted on such young shoulders, Chen's final dive earned an amazing 100.30 points – enough to take the title with ease.

BEIJING, August 22) -- The US sprint teams' woes continued at the National Stadium on Thursday, August 21, when their Men's and Women's 4x100m teams failed to reach the finals.
The formerly dominant US sprint teams will exit the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games with only two silver and two bronze medals from the 18 individual and relay medals available.
First, there was disappointment for the US Men's 4 x 100m Relay team, when a bungled baton change between Tyson Gay and Darvis Patton on the final changeover meant they failed to finish the first semifinal.
Then, in the Women's 4 x 100m semifinals, poor communication between Torri Edwards and Lauryn Williams of the United States, also on the final handover, resulted in another dropped baton.
